Interesting Conversations I Have Had!

This year, I have had the pleasure of talking with many prominent Classics scholars whose work greatly inspired me. Some of them even accepted my invitation to speak at our Classics Club! Here are some major takeaways from our conversations!
Oct 28, 2025. Professor Gareth Williams from Columbia University:

By realizing how short our lives are, we learn to live every moment with purpose and make the most out of them

Oct 7, 2025. Professor Carol Dougherty from Wellesley College:

What makes Homer's Odyssey alive is its enduring relevance. It offers great guidance on how we tackle immigration and refugee problems today - perhaps that's why Nolan is making a whole movie on it. We are all super excited!

Oct 2, 2025. Professor James Hankins from Harvard University:

The importance of staying in touch with the Western Tradition. They are the roots of modern civilization, keeping us steadfast as we face unprecedented challenges.

These are some other important conversations I have recorded in my notes app that have greatly inspired me! One of my favorite ways to learn is not just reading, but also talking to people!
Aug 27, 2025. Harry Diakoff from The Alpheios Project:

The relevance of philosophy in the age of AI. Rather than decreasing the need for philosophy, the rise of AI has made our ability to engage with the world in a semantic way more important than ever.

May 21, 2025. With Gustavo Dos Reis from Brazil:

The societal responsibility that comes with privilege. We owe it to the world to give back to it what it has given us.

Mar 7, 2025. With Noah Levi from Israel:

Many people caught in between wars don't even get to think about politics. They are just thinking about surviving another day.
